Victoria Beckham to strip for £12 million

Thursday, October 30, 2008 · 0 comments

Former Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham will strip for a high profile ad campaign for Giorgio Armani for a 12 million pound deal - she will feature in her underwear in the advertisement and her hubby can't wait to see the first shots.

Her husband, football star David Beckham, had months back posed for the same range and that time Victoria was quite proud of the ad.

A close friend of the singer said: "Victoria adored David's underwear campaign, not least because it was quite raunchy. She always used to laugh with her girlie pals about David's bulging packet on bill-boards and how proud she was. So she just jumped at the chance to follow suit and be involved in a similar campaign - and it will probably be just as sexy. David can't wait to see the first shots of his wife in her undies."

Another source close to her added: "Victoria is very much aware there is a limited shelf life for any woman as to how long they can model, let alone model underwear. She is over the moon and extremely flattered to be the face and body of such a high-profile advertising campaign."

Shakira: I’m pregnant with my album

Shakira revealed that she is, in fact, expecting. But it’s not what you may think.

“I’m quite pregnant with my album,” the Colombian pop star told a reporter by phone — between laughs — when asked whether her foundation work on behalf of Latin American children has made her want to become a mother.

“Yes, I have plans, but not yet,” said Shakira, 31. “I’m pregnant with my songs. But someday, yes.”

The singer-activist plans to ask about 20 Latin American presidents at a regional summit in El Salvador on Thursday to direct more resources to poor children and to put early childhood development at the top of their agendas. She will appear on behalf of ALAS (Latin America in Solidarity Action) Foundation, a nonprofit coalition she helped create.

Asked whether she plans to write a song about ALAS, translated as ‘Wings’ in Spanish, the Grammy winner and United Nations goodwill ambassador said it’s out of her hands.

“I can’t control my muses,” she said.

Aegan Movie Review

Sunday, October 26, 2008 · 0 comments

Aegan is the latest release of ultimate star Ajith Kumar. The film released with quite a lot of expectation, but the scenario looks like the film has bombed at the box office. The film is based on Mein Hoon na, which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen, but however the director has failed to recreate the magic of Mein Hoon na. The success of the movie in Hindi largely depended on the music and the choreography of the movie. Nayanthara appears in low neck blouses and makes sure that her fans are not disappointed. But overall the movie has failed to impress.

Storyline

Leave your logical mind at home, and don’t ask doubts regarding story and plotline because none exists! It is Diwali time, and if you want to have a crackling time at the movies, then Aegan is fun unlimited (till the interval).

The Story- Shiva (Ajit) is a dare devil cop, whose introduction scene is in Hong Kong, where he single handedly kills a mafia chief, and proves as his father the commissioner Karthik (Nassar) says- “He is a one-man army, who trusts only his gun”

Now he is on a different mission- he has to fob off the international criminal John Chinnapa (Suman), who is trying to kill his former aide Ram Prasad (Devan), who has turned police approver. Ram is in hiding somewhere in Ooty where his daughter Priya (Piaa) is studying in a co-ed college. Shiva’s new assignment is to go undercover as a student to the college to protect Priya and also a lead to her father’s whereabouts.

Shiva joins the college where you have a funny principal (Jayaram) and a peon (Sathyan) and host of students including Priya’s lover Narain (Navdeep), who turns out to be our hero’s foster brother!

The best scene in the film is when Ajit meets Nayan for the first time and the way he bursts out into his favourite song Unne Paartha Pinpu Naan…(Kathal Mannan) ! It is a really a scream and a genuine gut-buster.

There are few other outrageous over-the-top depiction of Tamil film stereotypes like Jayaram, Cochin Haneefa and Sriman’s comedy scenes. There is some kind of chemistry between Ajit and Nayan in some stupid moments, which make you chuckle. Raju Sundaram has concentrated only on these one-liners, the silver lining in the film. Her make-up

In Main Hoon Na Farah Khan made Shah Rukh Khan lampoon conventional notions of macho heroism, but in Aegan, Raju strictly adheres to Ajit’s larger than life image. There are four long drawn out, well choreographed fight scenes where the hero fights a dozen baddies and comes out unscathed.

The music of Yuvan is ok, thanks to the picturisation of Raju Sundaram. The camera of debutant Arjunjena is eye-catching. Ajit is at his best but looks plump and stiff in some scenes where he need to be relaxed and natural (The Billa hang-over?)

Nayanthara looks perfect as Mallika, a role that fits her like a glove. Her make-up and costumes, especially the chiffon sarees and halter-neck blouses, rock. Piaa is promising. Jayaram as Principal and Haneefa as Ajit’s side-kick are a riot. But the same cannot be said about Suman who looks like a caricature with a weird wig.

What's the need of Bollywood actors

Roping in Bollywood celebrities as showstoppers may be the general trend in fashion shows, but a majority of designers opine that a celebrity's presence on the ramp show displays a designer's lack of confidence in his creations. The Lakme Fashion Week which started on Monday, till date has seen various celebrities from Bollywood including Priyanka Chopra, Mugdha Godse, Kangana Ranaut, Rituparna Sengupta, Sonam Kapoor, Sameer Dattani, Prachi Desai Adah Sharma, Sameera Reddy and Sonakshi Sinha (Shatrughan Sinha's daughter) walking the ramp.

But, a section of designers participating in the show feel the presence of the celebrities not only shows lack of confidence on the part of the designers but also takes away the limelight from their creations. Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who will display his wedding collection at the grand finale on the concluding day of the event Friday, said he will not have any showstopper for his show. "I have never used a showstopper for any of my shows till date as I don't believe in them. I feel my clothes are showstoppers or rather traffic stoppers, and I don't need any celebrity to carry them. If any designer is not confident about his clothes then he needs a showstopper to carry them," said Mukherjee.

Mukherjee said acting and modelling are two different professions and the actors and models should be left to do their own jobs. "Whenever an actor or a celebrity walks on the ramp, people do not talk about the clothes. They only speak about the celebrity and if anyone is happy with such type of indirect publicity, then it is OK for them but I am not for it," Mukherjee maintained. Kallol Datta, an established designer from Kolkata, also expressed similar views. "Celebrity! Who is a celebrity? Do you want me to celebrate their lives? Honestly, I don't think of celebrities. It depends on people. It's different strokes for different folks. Whatever suits is fine," said Datta, who is in his third season at the fashion week.

On using a Bollywood celebrity as a showstopper, Datta said: "I will never use a known face or who is popular to walk down the ramp just because he or she can get me more mileage. Then, I think your clothes are not strong enough to get mileage on their own." Delhi-based designer Zubair Kirmani, who has been in the industry for the last five years, said: "Designers rope in celebrities so that they can get media attention. There are very few people in the media who understand fashion, so if there is a celebrity then the media writes about it and the news reaches every corner of the country."

"As far as I am concerned, I don't believe in it as I think as long as one believes in his work, he does not need to get other people to endorse for him," Kirmani explained. However, a few designers felt that roping in a celebrity and getting them to wear their garments boosts confidence in them besides giving them publicity and good business. "It is not necessary that if you get a celebrity for your show, then he or she is going to wear whatever you have designed for them. It has to be comfortable, at the same time it should carry them in a desired way," said designer Pallavi Jaipur from Rajasthan.

Pallavi, who roped in actress Rituparna Sengupta, Raell Padamsee (daughter of Alyque Padamsee) and Aalia (daughter of Pooja Bedi), said: "When I took the clothes to Rituparna and Raell or even Aalia for that matter, they first saw it and when they were confident about the dress, agreed to wear it." "So, that gave me a confidence about my product," said Jaipur, who made her maiden appearance in the fashion week with Indian and Western collections.

Rimzim Dadu, a 22-year old designer from Delhi who is attending the fashion week for the third season, feels that having showstoppers can boost one's business. "I don't think that there is any harm in having celebrities in fashion weeks as everybody wants to catch them and one can put their best clothes for getting noticed," Rimzim said. "Although the fashion week is all about clothes, I feel if the presence of celebrity gets you more business, then there is no harm in it," she added.

Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria, who also happens to be the apparent heir to the prestigious throne of Sweden, had invited Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, for an exclusive dinner with her during her ongoing state visit to India.

Since the princess had seen Aamir's masterpiece Taare Zameen par, which is India's official entry to the Oscars, she was highly appreciative of the film. "It is a privilege to receive a special invitation like this," said Aamir.

Aamir was accompanied by his wife Kiran Rao. As it was time to bid farewell, Aamir gifted Princess Victoria an antique lithograph (sketches of India during the colonial period), while she gifted him a DVD collection of the legendary Ingmar Bergman's films.

Shruti Haasan sings for Imran

Monday, October 20, 2008 · 0 comments

Bollywood's new heartthrob Imran Khan says his Luck co-star Shruti Haasan's real-life singer image is now being incorporated into the film by director Soham Shah. "I've discussed the idea of Shruti singing in Luck with my director Soham, and he's kicked by the idea. So Shruti will be singing in Luck. In fact, Soham and the music director Pritam Chakraborty are having music sessions right now. A song is being designed for Shruti," said Imran.

It was childhood friend Imran who had recommended Shruti as an actress as well to Soham, who has earlier directed Kaal. Bollywood's new heartthrob Imran Khan says his Luck co-star Shruti Haasan's real-life singer image is now being incorporated into the film by director Soham Shah. Imran and Shruti go back a long way. Shruti, her younger sister Akshara and their mom Sarika were regular house guests in the Khan household at a time when Sarika was based in Chennai with her ex-husband Kamal Haasan.

"That's right," concedes Imran. "We almost grew up together. Initially Soham wanted to sign a new girl opposite me in Luck. I recommended Shruti. And I'm glad I did. Shruti has turned out to be wonderful in
Luck. "In terms of her look, talent and body language, Shruti is not your conventional heroine at all. She's very unconventional," he said.

What about Imran singing for himself? Not too many people know that the actor sings quite well and entertains family friends and his girlfriend with his singing. "You've seen Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na. You've seen how badly I sing in the climax? But I do have a steady voice. I sing the lower notes well. So with a little bit of training, I may be able to sing for one of my films," Imran said. For now he is happy doing all the rugged outdoor sports with Shruti in
Luck. "I think it's a helluva concept. No one has done any film like 'Luck' before."

In fact, Imran would love to be part of the sports film that Soham will now be directing for Sanjay Dutt Productions. "I love outdoor sports, Sanju baba and I love working with Soham. So there's no reason why I wouldn't want to be part of Soham's next."Imran has got along well with all the directors and co-stars he has worked with so far. "I do have an immediate and easy connectivity with people. I guess that quality works for me on screen. My aim is to play characters that people can easily connect with. That's true of
Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na, Kidnap, Luck and Delhi Belly. These are the only films I've signed so far."

Celina teams up with Sean Connery

Former Miss India and Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley couldn't have asked for more. First she landed a role in Hollywood film Quest of Sheherzade and now she will team up with Oscar winner Sean Connery in the international project based on Arabian Nights. Quest of Sheherzade is scheduled to go on floors in January and also stars Orlando Bloom of Pirates of the caribbean fame. It will be directed by Ken Khan, the technical director of fantasy adventure film Lord of the Rings.

"Sean Connery is there in the film and recently Orlando Bloom was also signed. I am playing an important character of an Iranian princess," said Celina. "The story is based on Arabian Nights and they are planning to start the shooting from January next year. I am in a contract and can't talk much about the movie," she said.
Quest of Sheherzade is not her first international project. Celina plays the lead in New Zealand-Australian venture Love Has No Language by the same director. In Love Has No Language, the former Miss India is cast as an Indian girl born and brought up in New Zealand. She is cast opposite Australian actor Ben Mitchell.

"It was very difficult to speak in Kiwi English as they speak in a completely difficult and weird accent. Neither do they speak like Australians nor like the British," Celina said. "It took me 10 days to sit constantly with my trainer to learn the correct accent. She sat with me day and night and spoke to me in her accent which made it possible for me to get it right," Celina added.

Celina said though she is working in Hollywood films, her first love will always be the Hindi film industry. "For me Bollywood is my priority. This is where I was born and I want to die. It gives me maximum pleasure dancing and singing. In fact, I was missing song sequences when I was shooting for Love has..," said the actress, who debuted with Janasheen in 2003.

The film bombed at the box office but she kept getting offers and featured in films like No Entry, Zinda, Tom, Dick and Harry and Apna Sapna Money Money. She feels her performance in Vikram Bhatt's Red helped her bag the international projects as the makers of the movies signed her after seeing the film that also starred Aftab Shivdasani.

"I was very hurt when Red did not work. I took it personally and thought I wasn't ready for serious films," said Celina, who will also be seen in Rohit Shetty's comedy Golmaal Returns.

Celina thinks comedy is her forte and does not want to experiment much with other genres. "I am good at comedy and people have also liked me in comedy films. So why should I experiment with other things? I am satisfied and happy doing comedies; so are my fans.

"No Entry, Apna Sapna Money Money, Golmaal Returns are my best films till date. In these three films, I loved my character. I feel the same for Golmaal Returns too."

In Golmaal Returns, Celina plays a de-glamourised South Indian girl, who is in love with a Marathi guy, played by Shreyas Talpade. "I think people will definitely like and enjoy our love track as it is really funny," she said.

The other projects Celina has signed on include Mukta Arts' Paying Guest and Hello Darling, Aditya Datt's Chaai Garam, Tigmanshu Dhulia's Showman and Ashtavinayak's Run Bhola Run.

Deepika attended an event here to announce the winner of a Fiama Di Wills Beautiful Face 2008 Hunt.

"I am really looking forward to be a part of the show," Deepika said.

On Thursday, the actress was dressed in a one-shoulder, short salmon coloured dress designed by Shantanu-Nikhil, who are showcasing their collection at the WIFW as part of the sponsor show for personal care brand Fiama Di Wills.

"Manish always goes out of his way for me and does a good job. He also did my first film 'Om Shanti Om'," she said.

Deepika says her favourite designer is Manish Malhotra, who is popular with most Bollywood icons.

"I believe in being comfortable in what I wear instead of wearing something in fashion that does not suit my body. I don't follow fashion trends," said Deepika.

Model-turned-actress Deepika Padukone, who is in the National Capital to walk the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) ramp for designer duo Shantanu-Nikhil, says she does not follow any fashion trends.

There have been regular rumours of break ups and upsets with reference to the Deepika-Ranbir relationship. Deepika said she regretted being open about it, since now they have no privacy. The one person, who foresaw this and never commented on the couple was Ranbir's mother Neetu Singh. But it looks like she approves.

Apart from instant success that came her way, Deepika has been in the news for her relationship with fellow newcomer Ranbir Kapoor. Both their first films released on the same day. While Deepika's 'Om Shanti Om' was a superhit, Ranbir's 'Saawariya' bombed at the box office.

Deepika said: "During my days of modelling, I never got any such opportunity or platform to showcase my talent. But god has been kind to me.

Karzzz Movie review

Karzzz

Anupama Chopra, Consulting Editor, Films

A cartoon in a recent New Yorker magazine showed a director pitching a movie to a studio head. The director suggests: Let’s remake an old classic with worse everything. The pitch meeting for the new Karz must have been similar. Director Satish Kaushik’s Karzzz is Subhash Ghai’s 1980 cult film with worse everything. Let’s begin with the hero, Himmesh Reshmmiya. In the publicity interviews for the film, Himmesh has repeatedly declared that he should not be compared to Rishi Kapoor, the original film’s hero because while Rishi was a handsome star, he, Himmesh is not at all good looking. The humility is appreciated but stating the truth doesn’t change it.

Himmesh, despite intensive styling and waves of hair on his head, remains, an acquired taste. He continues to sing with his trademark nasal twang but the unkindest cut is that here he tries hard to act. The scenes in which he attempts to emote by narrowing his eyes and furiously moving his lips are pure comedy. His new heroine, Shweta Kumar redefines vapid. So Urmila Matondkar, who plays the murderous wife Kamini, must carry the burden of acting for all three of them. She delivers admirably, pursing her lips, widening her eyes and giving us five expressions when only one would have sufficed.

This Olympics of bad acting is constantly interrupted by brain dead Himmesh songs. A sample of the lyrics: If loving you is wrong, I don’t want to be right, Tandoori Nights, Tandoori Nights. Giving the songs stiff competition are the dialogues. At one point, Himmesh playing the rock star Monty is trying to convince Kamini that he is the reincarnation of her long dead husband. He says he will give her intimate details that only a husband can know and proceeds to say:Jab tum kiss karti ho tumhari aank hen band ho jaati hain.Monty presumably knows many people who kiss with their eyes open.

The original Karz was a superbly orchestrated melodrama. Ghai created moments that still have the power to make your hair stand on end. Watch the climax when Kamini, played by a wonderfully elegant and icy Simi Garewal, becomes unhinged and admits that she killed her husband.

The new Karzzz is a clossal joke. At six or eight reels, it would have been a wonderful unintentional comedy – a so bad that it’s good film to add to classics like Manoj Kumar’s Clerk and Sheetal’s Honey. But at 18 reels, Karzzz is prolonged torture, steer clear.

Himesh sheds his nasal voice

Wednesday, October 15, 2008 · 0 comments

After shedding his cap, singer turned actor Himesh Reshammiya has now done away with his nasal twanged singing style in his new film Karzzzz. “Yes, the song Ek Haseena Thi is the first song I have sung without any nasal twang. Since it was a Kishore Kumar song, I did not change its style,” said Himesh. “Normally, I sing songs in high octave. That gives it a nasal twang, but for this song, I sang in medium octave,” he explains.

Karzzzz, a remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1980 blockbuster Karz is scheduled for release this Friday. Ek Haseena Thi would be the sole song taken from the original film. “I have composed the other seven songs in the film, which are very contemporary,” he says. Sharing his frustration on being on a strict diet of boiled, bland and grilled meals, he says it is hard for him to sacrifice his love for pizzas and ice-creams. That frustration of being on a diet led him to compose the song Tandoori Nights, he discloses.

When asked whether it is easy or difficult to compose music for his own films, he says, “It is very challenging and risky. The responsibility lies on my shoulders entirely”. He had earlier declared that he would compose only for his own films. While talking of the remake film, he says the producers have kept the original film ‘intact’. “The story, characters and many scenes are the same. But in the second half of the film, there is a twist,” he says.

On the comparisons being drawn between the original and the remake, he says “There can be no comparison between the original film and ours. The original was a classic and no one can go near it. We have tried to do our best by adding a new twist to the story.” He plays the character of “Monty” in the Satish Kaushik directed remake, which was played by Rishi Kapoor in the original. Describing himself as a big fan of Rishi Kapoor, he says, the remake is his way to pay tribute to the actor.

Urmila Matondkar plays the role of Kamini which was earlier essayed by by Simi Grewal in the original. “She fits the role of Kamini perfectly,” Himesh says. The other heroine in the film is played by debutant Shweta Kumar. On why he doesn’t act with established actress, he says, “I am an unconventional hero. I don’t know whether big names will fit opposite me or not. I am afraid of acting opposite them. By casting new actresses, I take a safer approach to ensure success.”

Unlike his last film Aap Ka Suroor, there will be no suspense over when will he open his cap, or when will he dance and laugh. “I will laugh and dance in this film, as I am not playing myself as I did in my last film. Here, I play a character and therefore, I have changed according to the needs of the role,” he says.

He considers this film to be the real test for his acting skills. “A section of the critics was unhappy of my performance in Aap Ka Suroor. This is my attempt to win them over,” he adds. “Among my coming films, I am also doing a comedy,” he says. He has four releases lined up for 2009. Kajraare is slated to be released in February, followed by Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekkh Mudh Mudh ke, Hey Gujju and A New Love Ishtory. He gives the credit for his new look in the film to his sister Roopa. “She has tried to make me look presentable. I am not a good looking hero, and so extra efforts has went in,” he says.A New Love Ishtory

He had to go for hair transplants, wearing extensions and even shaved his chest for the movie. “Rishi Kapoor is the best-looking ‘Monty’ and I am the worst,” says Himesh when asked how he compares himself with the actor. He says he chose acting because “In every movie buff’s heart, there is a hidden actor. I am exploring that. I got the opportunity to act, and so I am trying to fulfill my wishes of being an actor.”

Preity helps Isha find her soulmate

Tuesday, October 14, 2008 · 0 comments

Isha Koppikar has finally found her soulmate in Timmy Narang, a restaurateur, thanks to her friend Preity Zinta for helping her find him. “I have found my love in Timmy. I’m in a serious relationship with him. I’m happy to have a person like Timmy in my life and it is all because of one of our common friends Lina Mogre and Preity Zinta,” Isha said.

“It all started a year ago when I met Timmy through one of our common friends. We have common interests and share similar ideas and were communicating for a long time through SMSes,” added the actress who hit the jackpot with the song Khallas in Company. Asked how Preity came into the picture, Isha said: “Preity and I became very close during the shooting of Har Pal and she promised me that she will find a suitable guy for me.

“After a year, Preity introduced me to Timmy, but we already knew each - however, we were not sure about a relationship. We took the decision when Preity intervened and made things easier for us”. Isha says marriage is not round the corner, but she is seriously thinking about it. “May be within a year or two, we will get married. I am seriously thinking of marriage as I don’t want to remain like this for my whole life. I want to have babies and a family. After a certain time family becomes a priority in life as we have seen how the life of many actresses who do not have a family becomes. I don’t want to be like them.”

About her past relationship with Inder Kumar, Isha said: “I had a relationship of 10 years with Inder and wanted to marry him, but it did not happen. Now, I want to move on and forget the past.” Isha describes this as the best period of her life. “I am having the best days of my life - right movies, good work and my love.” Isha is looking forward to five films which include Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi, Hello, Har Pal, Shabri and Right Yaa Wrong.

Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi is Isha’s first film as a solo heroine. “It is the best film I have done till date.” She says Sooraj Barjatya’s film has been a turning point in her career. “Sooraj ji believed in me and went against the norm of the industry to give me the role. I had a glamorous image and he broke the typecasting and went ahead to offer it. From now onwards whatever I do in my career, I will attribute it to him.”

“And to some extent, I would also say that Lalit Marathe’s trust in me also mattered a lot,” she added. Marathe is the director of Shabri, produced by Ram Gopal Varma, where Isha plays the central character of a slum girl who later turns into a gangster. In Right Yaa Wrong she plays an interior designer and the character has grey shades. The film is a suspense thriller, which also stars Sunny Deol, Irrfan Khan and a host of other actors. In Har Pal she plays an air hostess, who is a close friend of Preity. The film is based on Preity’s character. Directed by Jahnu Baruah, the film also stars Shiney Ahuja.

Isha’s Hello is getting released today. The film produced by Mukta Arts also stars Salman Khan, Celina Jaitley, Gul Panag, Javed Jaffrey and Rajpal Yadav.

Stallone to be at Kambakht Ishq’s premiere

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has hit it off so well with Sylvester Stallone while shooting for Kambakht Ishq that he has convinced the Rocky star star to attend the premiere of the film in India as well as to work together in more movies. “Yes, Stallone will be coming to Mumbai for the premiere. In fact, we have hit it off so well that I’ve convinced him for more collaborations with us,” said Nadiadwala.

“However, it’s too premature to talk about any concrete plans between the two of us. He did give me a book to read, but that doesn’t mean I’m making a movie out of it, not yet.” The producer has huge plans for Kambakht Ishq. He plans to have an international release of the English version of the movie at the same time with the Hindi in April-May 2009. “It’ll be a much shorter version of the original. While the Hindi version will be around 130 minutes, the English version will be 90-100 minutes long and without any song.”

Nadiadwala is working on the English version of Kambakht Ishq. Though Akshay is all set to finally go international with his first English-language film, he won’t be heard speaking in his own voice. “I’ll get dubbing artistes from outside India to dub for everyone, excluding Sylvester Stallone. Akshay certainly can’t make himself comprehensible to American audiences in his own voice,” said Nadiadwala from Vicenza in Italy, where the last portion of Kambakht Ishq is being shot with Kareena, Akshay, Aftab Shivdasani and Amrita Arora.

To knock off the elaborate Hindi song sequences for the English version, Sajid is getting a creative music director from Hollywood as a consultant. “We’ve zeroed in on three guys who specialise in editing Hollywood musicals including the gentleman who did The wedding Singer. I’ll hire one of them to put together the English version of Kambakht Ishq. I don’t want it to be seen as a dubbed Bollywood film. I want it to be on a par with the American releases, just as slick.”

This is where the presence of Stallone, Denise Richards and Entourage star Holy Valencia would help. “These stars would help bring in the American audience and establish a connect with the film. Like in India, most audiences won’t care about Stallone and other Hollywood stars. They’ll just go to watch Akshay.” Nadiadwala is hoping Kambakht Ishq would be the international launch of Akshay’s career.

“He has it in him. And we’ve worked really hard to give Kambakht Ishqn an international look and feel. My film has gone way above budget. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to make a film so expensive. The ticket fare to Europe alone costs what was the entire budget of my first production.”

Preity helps Isha find her soulmate
