American actress Winona Ryder was rushed to hospital after she fell ill on a flight to London.

The 37-year-old actress was treated for an unidentified illness at Heathrow Airport immediately after her plane touched down just after noon, the Daily Mail reported.

The actress was taken to Hillingdon Hospital after a priority landing by the captain of the British Airways flight on Wednesday, it said.

Ryder's publicist, Mara Buxbaum has refused to confirm the nature of the star's illness last night but said the actress was discharged an hour later "in good health".

"She did fall ill on a plane and as a precautionary measure they took her to hospital. She was there for an hour. She's in good health. There's no drama," she added.

A spokesman for British Airways said: "The captain of BA282, which was travelling from LA to Heathrow, requested a priority landing as a female passenger required medical attention."

Ryder has acted in films like Edward Scissorhands and Little Woman but her career has seen a decline after her involvement in a series of controversial incidents.

The Oscar nominated actress has been found guilty of shoplifting from a department store. She was also arrested for possessing drugs. The star was also involved with actor Johnny Depp. Ryder was engaged to Oceans Eleven star Matt Damon before they split in 2001.

Witherspoon too short for Vaughn

Tuesday, November 18, 2008 · 0 comments

Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon was too short for her co-star Vince Vaughn in the movie Four christmases, as became clear when he had to pick her up for a few dancing scenes. According to reports that they had to be creative in solving the height problem.

She said: "He's 6'5" and I'm 5'2". We had a really funny scene, I don't know if it's in the film any more, where he rolls over onto me. We were in bed and then at the very end he rolls over and goes to sleep, but he rolls over and lays on top of me. It was like a tree trunk had just landed on me. I kept going, 'Tim-berrrrr!' It was really funny.

"It was a challenge, especially the kissing scenes. It was hard to get up there to kiss him but we worked it out.

"And he had to pick me up for half the dancing. He's actually holding me in the air so we can stay in the same frame. He's a fantastic dancer. A very, very good dancer, which you'd probably figure from Swingers. They were teaching us dance moves. I just couldn't keep up and he was like, 'Oh, it's a one-two cha cha cha'."

Leonardo DiCaprio, who just turned 34, says the election of Barack Obama to the post of US president is the best birthday gift he could have possibly got.

According to reports: "People keep asking me what I want for a present so I tell them I have the best birthday gift I can possible get, and that's this new president. I'm so excited." The actor celebrated his 34th birthday on Tuesday.

He was in London to promote his new movie Body Of Lies , in which he plays a CIA agent hunting a terrorist in Iraq and Jordan.

Fiercely anti-war, DiCaprio hopes that the new president will prove to be good news for Iraq and Afghanistan.

"Barack Obama's foreign policy positions are very different from the last administration. I think we are going to see some profound changes in the United States and it's going to reverberate throughout the rest of the world.

"The good thing now is that a whole new generation of young people have spoken and have voted for change and new policies, and all we can do now is support the new president and give him the tools that he needs," he said.

Despite his forthright political opinions, it's clear he hasn't been reading up on the British politicians. Asked if he had an opinion on Gordon Brown and David Cameron, he laughed: "Not right now, no. I'm still in Barack world, still reeling from that victory!"
