Kidman set to play transsexual

Nicole Kidman is set to play the world's first transsexual in an independent film starring fellow best actress Oscar-winner Charlize Theron, according to reports.

Australian beauty Kidman will star and produce The Danish Girl, a movie based on the true story of Danish artists Einar and Gerda Wegener, according to entertainment industry daily The Hollywood Reporter.

Einar Wegener, who will be played by Kidman, was a male artist who underwent ground-breaking surgery to become a woman in 1931 after pretending to be a female model in a series of successful portraits painted by Gerda Wegener.

Theron, a best actress Oscar-winner for Monster, will play Gerda Wegener, the report said. The film is to be adapted from David Ebershoff's successful 2000 novel of the same name.

Kidman, who celebrated the birth of a daughter earlier this year, has not appeared on screen since last year's fantasy tale The Golden Compass. She will next be seen in Baz Luhrmann's epic Australia due for release in the United States later this month.

Akon wants to be the first black Bond

Rapper Akon wants to be the first black James Bond and said he would pick Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger as his love interest.

According to reports: "My ideal Bond girl would be Nicole. I think she'd be perfect. Lewis wouldn't mind if I borrowed her for a minute. He seems like a pretty secure guy. He's handsome and a world champion. I don't think he'd be worried."

Akon is even making plans to fund his own Bond venture if the present producers refuse to sign him.

He said: "A lot of people don't know that I'm heavily trained in martial arts. And when it comes to cars - that's my thing. I was raised on cars. I could do acting. It would probably take me six months to a year of training to make sure I'd get the role. I could handle that role, no problem. If I don't ever get the opportunity then I'm gonna shoot my own."

Abhishek's illness worries Amitabh

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, who is currently shooting with wife Aishwarya in Kerala for Mani Ratnam's Raavan, has fallen ill, revealed father Amitabh. Amitabh wrote on his blog that the morning of Wednesday was very eventful for him.

"As I step out of bed in the early hours of today (Wednesday), Obama wins, B R Chopra passes away and Aishwarya calls that Abhishek is down with shivering and high fever. All three events come across simultaneously within seconds," Amitabh wrote on his blog.
"I want to get through to Abhishek, media is worried as they have a deadline," he added. Amitabh wrote that Abhishek might be suffering in Kerala, "a distant location", due to "rough conditions, rain and dirt".

Vidya happy she's not linked to Arshad

Vidya Balan is quite relieved nowadays as she has been spared of a link-up with her co-star Arshad Warsi with whom she is shooting for Ishkiyan.

"Vidya is happy that this time the media will not be able to link her with her co-star. Arshad is her good friend and he is happily married with two kids. So she is glad that she will be spared any link-ups this time," a source said.

The two are shooting in Wai for Vishal Bharadwaj's Ishkiyan. In the past, Vidya has been linked to all her co-stars including Shahid Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and John Abraham. She was also linked to Sajid Khan, who directed her in Akshay Kumar- starrer Heyy Babby.
Vidya is having a wonderful time shooting in Wai. Unlike other actors who prefer to stay inside their vanity vans between the shots, Vidya loves spending time with nature.

A source said: "Vidya loves to be in a natural environment. She enjoys nature walks in between shots. She finds the entire experience absolutely soothing."

Madhavan to lose weight for 3 Idiots

After Abhishek Bachchan who has lost 14 kgs to look like Mani Ratnam's on -the-run fugitive in his new film, it's Mani's earlier favourite Madhavan who is required to undergo a physical melting-down.

And it's not for the love of Mani. It's for Raj Kumar Hirani. Apparently, Hirani has asked all his three leading men Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and Madhavan to "look like IIT students."

The interpretation of that instruction has been left to the individual actors. Says a source, "Aamir will lose some of that aggressively muscular look that he has acquired for Ghajini. He needs too look leaner and more athletic, as he did in Dil Chahta Hai. Playing a student at 40-plus won't be difficult for Aamir. He has done so in Rang De Basanti with great success. Sharman doesn't need to lose any weight. He looks completely in character. Madhavan needs to look more toned."

Madhavan who has temporarily shifted base to Mumbai to seriously pursue a career in Hindi cinema, has taken off for two weeks to Ashford in the UK to work on his physique for the role in 3 Idiots.

Speaking from London Maddy says: "My sister lives here in Ashford and there're very good health clinics here. Whenever I need to change around my metabolism or rework my physique for a role I head for Ashford. And at the moment I'm re-working my physique to look like a student. "

A time -frame has been set for each of the actors to get into the shape they think right for their characters.

"It's not about looking thinner or younger. All three of us need to look convincing as IIT students. How we choose to do so has been left to us," says Madhavan. Madhavan returns in two weeks to resume the shooting of Teen Patti, which got suspended when the Big B fell ill.

Saif wants four kids with Bebo

In an interview with People magazine Saif Ali Khan says that he looks forward to having "two girls and two Boys" with Kareena.

"Our living apart from each other reminds me of my mum's [Sharmila Tagore] letters that she used to write to my father [Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi] when he used to be away from home for days while playing international cricket. She used to decide on the spot where they could meet.

Since Kareena and I are not doing too many films together also, we need to be strong and have a lot of love and trust to make our relationship work. Since we stay apart from each other, it's also very exciting whenever we meet. It has kept our relationship as intoxicating as ever. People often tend to not take our relationship so seriously. So we need to be almost spiritual to make it successful.
